North Creek Music Systems
USA based manufacturer of loudspeaker and components, including loudspeaker kits that they sell under their own name, fully built dynamic loudspeakers that they sell under the North Acoustics brand and full range ribbon speakers that are marketed under the Fibonacci Technologies label. Their components are sold under the North name and are primarily wound coils intended for crossovers but they have in the recent past sold loudspeaker drivers and a variety of passive electronic components such as resistors, capacitors and other inductors under the North name. In addition the company manufactures fully built speakers as an OEM.

The company was originally founded in 1991 by George E. Short III (ex-Acoustic Research (Teledyne) and Apogee Acoustics) and then based in Thendara in New York State, moved to Old Forge in the same state in the latter half of the noughties and more recently to its current address in Arizona. Initially supplied loudspeaker kits and parts directly to the public and appears to have been run as a sole trader up until 2006 when NCMS was finally incorporated but at a little later announced that they would stop the manufacture and sales of kits and components to the public on Sept. 30, 2006. However about a year later the company was back supplying speaker kits although a much smaller range than they had sold originally. The company had started selling fully built loudspeaker systems in 2003 under the North Acoustics name, introduced hybrid ribbon/dynamic loudspeakers that they sold under the Advanced Ribbon Technologies stencil in 2005, originally the ART moniker was a model name but they later started referring to it as a separate brand but more or less stopped using that name after they introduced the Fibonacci Technologies brand in 2008.

The company manufactures hi-fi and home theatre loudspeakers, speaker systems and equalisers for loudspeaker systems, primarily in the mid range pricewise, although they have a couple of high end models and a bookshelf speaker or two that touch the low end of the price spectrum. The company sells only directly to punters, traditionally via mail order and their own retail outlets but more recently has relied largely on internet sales, be aware though that the company advertises its speakers with prices quoted for a single unit rather than the usual pairs.

The direct sales model alongside the fact that the company does not show its wares in traditional hi-fi or consumer electronics shows means that it remains relatively unknown not only in the rest of Europe but also in its home country of Germany, even though it has a sizable and loyal following in the Schwaben (Swabian) part of the country, held together by a popular and often lively internet forum hosted on their homepage. Nurbert also holds out retail stores in the towns of Schwäbisch Gmünd and Aalen in Baden-Württemberg. Company founded in 1975 as "Günther Nubert Electronic Gesellschaft mit beschränkter Haftung" and has from the start manufactured loudspeakers and for most of the companies lifetime held out some sort of a retail operation as well, but company founder and namesake Günther Nubert had been making custom electronics for recording studios since the late sixties as a sole trader.
