Eastern Electronics
Indian manufacturer of hi-fi products such as loudspeakers and amplification, all sold under the Norge brand, stricly 2 channel audiophile products, no home theatre and they also handle the local distribution of Wavecor.
The history behind the Norge name is interesting, Shyam Bajaj's father started the company in 1946 as a radio repair workshop, Shyam started working there in 1952 but was more interested in the then emerging filed of hi-fi equipment than radio repairs so he tried for years to get an apprenticeship with one of the larger European or American audio companies to no avail, by chance he got in contact with Tandberg who agreed to take him on and when he returned to India he started manufacturing a line of hi-fi products and named it in honour of Norway.
