Nittobo has one very unusual product in the form of the AGS room tuning system, the "Acoustic Grove System" is an unusual type of diffuser that has better spatial expansion characteristics than most such, it is primarily sold as a professional product and made to order but the company has more recently introduced a consumer version that has got a lot of interest in hi-fi and home theatre circles since it can replace absorbers to a degree, especially in small rooms where the latter can deaden the sound too much. The company is a subsidiary of Japanese textiles giant Nitto Boseki and started out in 1974 as a provider of acoustic materials.
