Potrugese manufacturer of plucked stringed instruments, the company is primarily an OEM and thus you will find their product sold under a variety of names worldwide, but they do sell under their own brand name, either António Carvalho or António Pinto Carvalho depending on market. They manufacture a dazzling array of instruments ranging from classical and flamenco guitar, through French style jazz guitars, ukuleles to a mind bending variety of traditional Portugese string instruments.
The company was formed in 1976 and is a proper factory although their instruments are still mostly hand made, the company is named after its founder, however the family behind the name have a long history of making guitars and the legendary Portugese maker A. Carvalho from around the turn of the 19th/20th century belonged to that family.
